Scaffold Inspections in Kent

West Kent is an easy run from my Reigate base, so Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and the Dartford corridor fit onto a weekly route. I cover the rest of the county for weekly contracts and audits. Statutory 7-day inspections, handovers and anchor testing, with the report in your inbox within 24 hours.

What I inspect in Kent

  • Weekly 7-day inspections on a fixed route
  • Inspections before first use and after alterations, high winds or impact
  • Handover inspections for completed scaffolds
  • Independent audits for contractors, councils and housing providers
  • Scaffold anchor installation and pull testing to BS 8539 and TG4:25
  • Scafftag and inspection tag updates on every visit

Where I work in Kent

Sevenoaks, Westerham, Edenbridge, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Dartford, Swanley, Gravesend and the M25 and M20 corridor are the quickest from Surrey. Maidstone, the Medway towns, Ashford and Canterbury are covered on weekly contracts and for audits.

On the route

New sites usually go in within days, because they are fitted around an existing weekly route. If you run scaffolds in both Kent and south London, they can often share one visit.

Why Kent contractors use an independent inspector

Much of the scaffold inspection work in Kent is done by the scaffolding firms themselves, which is legal and often done well. The problem is what happens when a principal contractor, an insurer or the HSE asks for the record after an incident: a report written by an employee of the firm that erected the scaffold weighs less than one signed by someone independent. For scaffolding firms going through NASC, SMAS, CHAS or Constructionline audits, independent weekly records are also the quickest way to show inspection is under control.

"Done properly, in-house inspection works. Independent inspection works under pressure."

What you get

  • A Schedule 7 compliant report with captioned photos, a clear verdict and defects carried forward, within 24 hours
  • A short summary email of the actions that matter
  • One named inspector on every visit

Frequently asked questions

Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Dartford and Gravesend are the fastest from Reigate and often go onto an existing route. East Kent is covered for weekly contracts and audits rather than one-off visits.

No. The Work at Height Regulations ask for competence, not a postcode. What matters is the training, experience and independence of the person signing the report.

Yes. Several scaffolds within a few miles of each other on one visit is the arrangement that keeps the cost per scaffold lowest.
